God's Plan of Salvation

The word of the Lord is right...
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. (1Timothy 2:1-5)
(Pslams 33:4)
"What must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16:30)

Sadly many ways to be saved are taught by men today, in spite of what the Lord said:

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

(John 14:6)

Though men have devised many ways, the good news of the Gospel of Jesus plainly and consistently teaches us only One Way, One Truth that leads to the One Eternal Life in heaven with God.

To the right is the scripture which outlines God's plan for saving man. Anything less is a subtraction and anything more is an addition. Please read each text: Then you'll know what you must do.

The saints at the Church of Christ of Norton are always ready to assist you in any way possible. "It is God's desire that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth". (1Tim 2:4)

It would be our pleasure to help you in any way possible. You may call me 24/7 if you have a need. No hour is too late, or too early. I will be glad to study the Bible with you at your home, in my office, or anywhere. The Psalmist said:

"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him"

(Psalms 8:3&4)

“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

(Matthew 16:26)

Hello,

From the evangelist at the Church of Christ of Norton. I hope you will come and join us in our worship, study and praise of our God and Savior.

Your soul is the most important thing to God, and to me.

Evangelist

The greatest question ever asked

This was asked by a jailer to the Apostle Paul and Silas. So Paul and Silas answered and:

"So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” they spoke the word of the Lord to him" (Acts 16:31-32).

When the word of the Lord, the gospel of Jesus Christ is spoken in answer to this question, unlike men the Word of the Lord always gives the same answer. Every record of persons in the New Testament being saved, ended in their being baptized. The word of the Lord is right.

You must Hear

Hearing truth is hearing God. God the Father said in reference to Jesus, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him" (Matthew 17:5). Paul said: "Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God." (Ro 10:17)

You must Believe

You must believe in God and Christ. Jesus said: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.”   (John 14:1)  …for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins” (John 8:24)  “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)  The scripture was written so that we may "believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God” (John 20:30-31).

You must Repent of your sin

You must repent of your sins. Jesus said, “…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).  Paul preached,“Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30).  “…godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation” (2Corinthians 7:10)

You must confess Christ

You must confess your faith in Christ. Jesus said,“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32). Peter made that confession “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16) Paul teaches, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Ro 10:9-10).

You must be Baptized

You must be baptized into Christ. Baptism is an immersion in water (Acts 8:36-38) that puts one into Christ (Galatians 3:27) where salvation is (2 Timothy 2:10). Jesus commanded it, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16) On hearing Peter preach men asked, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” (Acts 2:37), Peter answered as Christ commanded him: “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins …” (Acts 2:38)

You must Remain Faithful

You must remain faithful unto death. The Lord declared, “…Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (Revelation 2:10). “…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2Corinthians 6:2)
